- The Parliamentary Services are the staff department of the Federal Assembly and its organs. They support them in fulfilling their tasks and take into account the requirements set out in Article 64 of the Parliamentary Act of December 13, 2002 (ParlG) and in Article 17 of the Ordinance Federal Assembly carries out the functions listed on the Parliamentary Act and on Parliamentary Administration of October 3, 2003 (ParlVV). They are the hub between the Federal Assembly on the one hand and the Federal Council, other authorities and the public on the other hand. In doing so, they protect and promote the interests and dignity of the Federal Assembly and its organs. In accordance with the separation of powers, they are subordinate to parliament and independent of the Federal Council and the federal administration. The superior authority is the Administrative delegation composed of the presidencies of the National Council and the Council of States. Among other things, the parliamentary services inform the public about the Federal Assembly and its activities in accordance with Article 12 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliamentary Services and provide documentation and information technology services to council members.
