• Description:
• On behalf of the federal government, the SBB is planning an additional crossing with a platform connection at Basel SBB station. This project, called the public facility (Margarethen platform access), is intended to have a statically independent passenger bridge parallel to the Margarethen Bridge Access platforms. On the one hand, a replacement building for the existing Margarethen Bridge (new Margarethen Bridge) must be planned in accordance with the future requirements of long-term railway expansion. On the other hand, the canton of Basel-Stadt wants the new bridge for the Optimize tram, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The architectural, landscape architecture and civil engineering plans have already been procured via the study contract process. Bestandteil der Projekte sind ebenso umfangreiche Umbauarbeiten im gesamten Gleisfeld between the main passerelle Basel SBB and the Birsig river. This requires extensive adjustments to the track and platform system. For this purpose, overall planning management and railway technology coordination is being sought.
