- The A9 Siders Ost - Leuk/Susten Ost in the canton of Valais comprises an 8.5 km long section that crosses the protected Pfynwald. In order to minimize the environmental impact, over 75 % of this route runs underground.
In the affected section, the existing natural gas line runsSwissgas AG from the Siders East roundabout to the Pfyngut today mutually along the Kantonsstrasse. Thus, the majority of today's route lies within the project perimeter of the covered cut.(Elr), route 70, with a maximum operating pressure (MOP) of 70 bar of the swissgas over a length of 3.5 km.
