Description:
The starting point
The municipality of Itigen planned the development of the central area "Center Rain", which had existed since the 1970s and was originally designed for 20,000 inhabitants. A master plan from 2013 focused on improving the outdoor spaces, with some measureshave already been implemented. A new kindergarten was built in 2020 and the local council decided to build a meeting zone instead of a parking space. The renovation of the triple sports hall and the multi -purpose building was rejected due to the poor condition in favor of a new building.A holistic master plan "Rain" was then created to ensure long -term optimal use of the area. For this purpose, a single-stage project competition for the construction of the sports and leisure facilities was carried out, in which innovative, sustainable concepts were required. The winning projectby Leismann AG now serves as the basis for further planning and implementation.
Objective
The system in Itigen is on a terraced high plateau and is shaped by loosely distributed solitaires and a fragmentary avenue. To strengthen the main square, a two -storyBuilding integrated as a new central point, which was built into the existing triple gymnasium.
