Description:
The confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) is regularly used in a variety of ongoing research projects. In advanced in-vitro model research, it becomes the characterization of two-dimensional and three-dimensional in-vitro cell culture models and ex-vivo culturesused. It enables us to understand cell differentiation, cell fate, cell fusion and the formation of biological barriers in the in-vitro models. In nanomedicine and nanos security research, the CLSM is used to use intracellular transport and co-localizationto examine from fluorescent nanoparticles in cellular and subcellular compartments (i.e. mitochondria, lysosomes and cell nucleus). It is also for the characterization of cellular structures (e.g. cytoskeleton, vesicle, cell nuclei, membranes and intracellular proteins) after treatmentUsed with nanomedicians and advanced materials that contribute to understanding cellular reactions and mechanisms. The CLSM is also used to map different types of implantable materials to the interaction between different surfaces/surface modificationsand examine cell/tissue reactions. The reflection mode, in which incident laser light is reflected on surfaces, enables the combined visualization of surface topography in metallic implants and, for example, the cell cytoskeleton, the cell kernels or the membrane proteins.The evaluation of cell migration or infiltration in 3D hydrogels is also carried out with the help of time-lapse microscopy. In addition, the CLSM is part of our activities in the field of correlative imaging in connection with other high-resolution techniques such as raster orTransmission electron microscopy and Raman microspectroscopy.
