- On the Cavaduerli - Davos Laret section between km 39.281 - 40.631, a pilot road renewal is planned.
The track section exhibits greater track position instability, especially in summer. The gravel is heavily contaminated with fine particles. Due to the expansion of services, this route is heavily used, so the load on the track does not decrease. In order not to worsen the current condition, the section should be rebuilt as soon as possible. The synergies and route closures should be used of the train station project in order not to open another construction site at a later date (approx. in 5-10 years). At the same time, this section of track represents an optimal test field for verifying the results of the RAILplus vehicle/track interaction research project. The plan is to build a complete new track with a renewal of the subsoil, including the installation of a PSS in sections and an AC Rail surface, including the associated drainage system. At the same time, all cable systems will be renewed and expanded. The superstructure is then complete renewed. The system and research findings from the above-mentioned research project are implemented in the superstructure renovation.
