- The Technical Operations Wil (TBW) is planning a district heating network. This is supplied with waste heat from the waste incineration plant of the Bazenheid Waste Recycling Association (ZAB). The heat is transported to the south of the city of Wil via a 5.2 km long transfer line. From there it is distributed over two main lines: one leads to the west of the city to the St.Gallen Psychiatry, the other to the east via the Lindenhof school complex to Wil Hospital. The first heat delivery in Wil is planned for the 2026/2027 heating season.
