EPFL plans to acquire silicon test wafers as well as polished double-sided silicon wafers for its Clean Room MicroNanotechnology (CMi) Center. A significant part of the process development at CMi is based on silicon substrates, which requires a substantial supply of silicon substrates. To maintain sufficient stock, CMi places an order for new wafers every four years, ensuring their continued availability for users and its staff.
