- Description:
- The civil engineering department of the Canton of St.Gallen is planning to build a new footpath and cycle path along Cantonstrasse No. 74 (Sarganserstrasse) between the Elcotherm site and the Baltschana roundabout in the municipality of Vilters-Wangs. For the implementation, an engineering office is being sought that has the following: Project phases are taken over: Phase 3 project planning with the sub-phases legal remedies and land acquisition, phase 4 tendering with sub-phase 41 and phase 5 execution with sub-phases 51 to 53. The aim of the project is to correct a identified weak point in the slow transport network and to improve it road safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The new pedestrian and cycle path can be used in both directions, is separated from motorized traffic by a green border and is 3.00 to 3.50 meters wide. In addition, adjustments to the existing road infrastructure, Works pipelines, drainage systems and landscaping measures such as the creation of an avenue of trees are planned. The planning takes into account geological and environmental aspects, especially in the area of the Vilterser Wangser Canal.
