- Subproject 1: Backup Storage (Hardware) Provision of a highly available, high-performance, scalable, and energy-efficient storage infrastructure for redundant, efficient, and long-term data storage and backup of all relevant Bedag workloads. The platform must integrate seamlessly with the selected backup software from Subproject 2 and support features such as deduplication, compression, encryption, immutability/WORM, last-line-of-defense protection, as well as efficient data transfer to secondary and optional air-gapped locations. The solution should be designed as an economically viable scale-out system and meet the requirements for energy efficiency, operating costs, and capacity expansion over the planned lifecycle. Custom-built backup storage solutions based on generic standard hardware without clear manufacturer responsibility for the overall system are not preferred, but may be considered favorably if the overall concept is convincing. Subproject 2: Backup Software and Associated Infrastructure Implementation of a high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly central software platform for backing up and restoring all relevant Bedag systems and applications, including native integration with the backup storage to be procured from Subproject 1.
