Description:
With the multi -track in Zurich - Winterthur project, the BUND and SBB AG are planning a new double lane line through the Bruettenertunnel and the expansion of the train stations Dietlikon, Bassersdorf, Valaisellen and Winterthur Toess. This means that today's bottleneck in the rail network between Zurich and Winterthur can be remedied andthe necessary offer expansion can be realized.
The core to remedy the capacity bottleneck between Zurich and Winterthur is the approximately 8,3 km long Bruettenertunnel, which has a branch of approx. 1 km long towards the airport. For this underground double -track expansion, the direction of travel isa single -sprint tunnel with an inner diameter of around 8.3 m. An access to the tunnel is located north of the Dietlikon train station, a second east of Bassersdorf train station. These two tunnel access are merged underground in the Muelberg branch and occur at ToessmuehleWinterthur in a portal structure crossing the KEMPT again on the surface. In the event of an event, these cross -connections serve that travelers are used by this connection from theCan save event tube into the so -called counter -tube. At the three low points, the cross connections are also combined with rail technology buildings that have access from the surface of the terrain.
