The existing bus station in Littau no longer meets today's requirements (BehiG, comfort, stay, etc.). In addition, the operation cannot be carried out safely from a traffic perspective. On the part of the Lucerne Transport Association, the Canton of Lucerne and the City of Lucerne the intention to expand public transport in the Lucerne North area, which triggers the need for several bus stops at Littau train station.
