Description:
The Stadtgärtnerei Basel manages 240 hectares of public green and open spaces with around 28,000 trees. Seven diesel-powered municipal vehicles with mobile water tanks are used to professionally maintain the trees, parks and green spaces (watering barrels) in use. In winter operation, these vehicles are used as snow clearing vehicles in parks and as transport vehicles all year round. The canton has set itself the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transport to net zero by 2030. which is why emission-free new purchases are made with fully electric vehicles.
