Description:
With the current traffic density, the capacity limit on the Bern Wankdorf - Muensingen section has been reached. In order to be able to implement the offer seals for S-Bahn traffic stored in the Step expansion step 2025, the following capacity-increasing measures are required in the Aaretal:
* Wankdorf Sued / Ostermundigen: Live -free unbreaking structure between the Bern - Thun line and the Zollikofen - Thun / Extension Bahnhof Ostermundigen on four passage tracks.
* Guemligen Sued: Level -free unbundling structure to integrate the single -track route from the Emmental in the direction Bern.
* Muensingen: route tracks 1 and 4 with Vmax 160 km/h. Track 2: turning track in the middle position, expansion track 3 for FV night ties (400m) and implementation of the requirements of the disabled equalization law (Behig)
These extensions enable conflict -free crossing of the trains in Wankdorf Sued and Guemligen Sued for an 1/4 H clock Bern - Muensingen, a 1/2 H clock Bern - Langnau and a bundling of long -distance traffic with additional freight traffic in the Aaretal.
In addition to the two route tracks 1 and 2 is A third track available, which can be used as an overtaking track for slow freight trains and as a siding.
