- As a national grid company, Swissgrid AG is responsible for the planning, safe operation, maintenance and expansion of the Swiss transmission network. In order to ensure stable and secure network operation, Swissgrid relies on a modern, efficient infrastructure and close cooperation with national and international partners. The IT landscape and the data centers play a central role: Swissgrid operates two data centers at external providers and several IT rooms at our own locations in Switzerland. The planning and coordination of all installation work is carried out by the data center and network team, which is also responsible for quality and cost control. For the execution of technical and For administrative tasks in the IT and electrical areas in its data centers, Swissgrid uses external service providers. These provide support in particular with the assembly and disassembly of IT components, with cabling work and with documentation central planning tool (FNT Command) as well as for maintenance, troubleshooting and material logistics. Collaboration is based on clearly defined processes and guidelines to ensure smooth operations and the highest security standards ensure.
