The KVA Thurgau at the location in Weinfelden (Switzerland) has been in operation since 1996 and must be replaced in the next 10 years. There are space reserves on the area south of today's KVA that are used for replacement construction.
The KVA Thurgau is currently operated at its capacity limit andThis
already exceeds today, and the waste forecast also shows that the waste quantities will continue to increase in the future. The capacity for the replacement construction was set accordingly to
224,000 t waste per year.
