- The agency asylum and refugee (DAF) of the Health and Social Department (GSD) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the asylum and refugee system in the canton of Lucerne. It implements the political guidelines of the cantonal and government council and at the same time acts as Interface between the federal government, canton and municipalities. In the context of social assistance, in addition to the accommodation and support, the DAF also ensures financial support for people from the asylum and refugee area. It also promotes its integration into society and the labor market. In addition, the DAF organizes emergency aid for people who have to leave Switzerland if necessary.
