- The current heating system of the asylum center in Kreuzlingen takes place with gas. A feasibility study showed that the heating replacement with geothermal heat pumps and the installation of the PV systems on the roof makes sense. With the renovation project, which was completed in 2024, energetic improvements have already been provided with the renovations of windows and roof skin, which reduces the total requirement of the heating replacement by WP and further improves the energy efficiency overall. The partial coverage of the energy requirement with the PV system increases the proportion of self-sufficient local energy cover and thus reduces the general supply costs and CO2 emissions.
